You have to be careful when watching a pre-rendered trailer for a game. On one hand, it looks totally awesome when a dude makes a flame whip out of thin air and devastates an entire army. On the other hand, the game will probably be nothing like that. We can’t say for sure, but as far as cool videos go, you can’t beat some dramatic music and a dragon made of smoke.
Listen up maggots, there won’t be any bug hunts this year because Sega’s Aliens: Colonial Marines has been pushed back from a late 2012 launch to early 2013. Tribes: Ascend follows a lot of norms that most shooters have, but overall, Tribes: Ascend is unlike any other shooter you have ever played. The predominant mechanic in Tribes is the combination of skiing and jetpacking. Most maps, whether they are arena or CTF will start you off on top of a hill. By holding down the space-bar, your character will enter a frictionless state known as skiing. There, they will slide down the hill and pick up enormous speed.

After a haboob of massive proportions, Dubai rests in sandy ruins. Delta Force, led by Colonel Martin Walker, are sent to search for survivors after receiving a distress signal. Turns out the signal is a hoax. Dubai is in bad shape, it’s true, but the signals is being broadcasted by a group of rebels and army deserters.
As the commander, it is up to you to plot the route for your caravan. Some streets have more turrets. Some turrets can be easily defeated if you attack from a certain direction. It all comes down to risk versus reward. If you destroy more turrets, you’ll gain more money for upgrades and new units.
