I wrote this a while ago. I may post a vocal video if there is enough interest though my singing is likely atrocious.
Little background, this was written right before switch to 5e. It tells some spoiler if not that far.
Thanks and I hope you enjoy. Would love this to get mentioned in the podcast. Lol.
Now without further ado,
The Heart of Violence
A Sound of Silence Parody by Brian Poling(Epochrasite)
Hello Bucky, my young friend
You’ve gotta stump grind again
Because Aludra keeps on weeping
She Left her son without thinking.
And a gnoll dug its way inside my brain
Within a heart of violence
In evil’s skin I don’t condone
Though streets of gnoll-ish bones
‘Neath the castle of a bad man
I spurned the holler of the gnoll-ish brand
Then my ears were blasted by the smash of a Zerd in flight
He struck the light
And moved a heart of violence
And in the aftermath I saw
Ten thousand gnollish, maybe more
People crushing without lifting
People dying without tripping
People writing wills that children never hear
And no one cared
About the heart of violence.
“Fools”, said I, “You need to go
Violence like a Sladi grows
Fear my sword that I might greet you
Rake my arms that I might beat you”
Yet my swords, like violent pain-drops fell
My heart of violence.
And the people grovel and beg
To the man without a grave
And old man wick said his warning
The demon hordes still were swarming
And the Wick said, “The sword of the drinker or the last of the Pegasus falls
And blood-drinker falls”
So disappears the heart of violence
