Tim Lanningisms

Postby Leumas » Fri Jul 04, 2014 2:43 am

Has anyone noticed Tim Lanningisms creeping into your gaming lexicon??

I can barely play a game these days without going: "My mannnn" or "MY GOD" or "YATAAAAAA" or "just jacking your dick bro". Although that last one I may have picked up from The Mike Bachmann.

Anyone have a favorite Tim "My Brand" Lanningism that they always catch themselves saying??

Many of those. Also I catch myself saying "Roll Sanity" all the time when crazy things happen.

I hear constantly "My Mannn!" enough to where I have to catch myself to not say it.

Some of these things are Mike Bachmannisms, but I appreciate the hive mind growing.

I haven't heard him say it in a while, but I've developed a habit of exclaiming "Haaaaail Satan!" whenever something unexpectedly goes my way.

Tim's mixed metaphors are the best. My favorite so far: "That won't make mustard".

I do find myself promoting my improv shows a lot more. Which is weird because I don't do improv.

completely understandable... I use "dang" as an adjective more than I ever have in my entirety of life.

Sometimes, when I'm told something I disapprove of to some extent, I'll hear his childlike "why?" in my mind. It rarely comes out, though it actually has lead me to learn how to use the machines in my workplace in more efficient ways than the established processes I was taught.

in my job, I am often asked "Why" by participants. When the answer is of no consequence or value, I will stare down, as if ashamed and tell them "I could tell you, but....that would reveal a part of my dark past...I don't want to talk about it!"

TL;DR
"Because My Dark Past" has replaced "Because reasons" when I don't want to answer a given question.

I use "dang" and "cuss" all the time, which are surely due to my exposure to lanning.

Well, since I'm in a RPG drought for "busy DM" reasons, I don't get to use any lanningisms, but the other day I caught myself singing "I'm a good baby and everybody loves me"...
You know, that girl, the perfect rogue next door.

I find myself screaming out 'YATAH!' on things that usually don't deserve that level of excitement. Morning production meetings on the other hand have gotten much more entertaining as a result.
DM: Are you sure?
Me: Well now I'm not!
