Thrifty Apprecciation Thread

Certainly we can all agree that Thrifty is the bees' goddamn knees. But like with many of the best DMs it can be easy to lose sight of him behind the pictures and stories of Drunkeros he creates. So lets talk about out favorite moments, jokes, and characters Thrifty has brought us.

If this were Cracked.com, there would be something moderately witty here, but not so witty as to distract you from the rest of the article

My personal favorite was a few episodes back, during Jaela's flashback to Yangahr when Bachmann was playing Steve the Gnoll. The gang boarded the S.S. Chumdumpster so they could sail off to the safety of Caer. Thrifty briefly mentions a language divide between the sailors from Caer who speak Common and the party, who speaks Yangahreese. Xantolin was welcoming the gang on board and asked them a question to which they responded something along the lines of.

"Yes."
"Yes!"
"Yes.Yes."
"Yes."
"Yes?"
"Yes! Yes!"

And Xantolin responds "Well hello yourselves, it's so nice to meet you too!" and then moves on with the introductions. That's the joke. Thrifty is a clever bastard.

If the joke still wasn't clear, this should explain what I thought was funny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsIog9sAQ2w.

My favourite thing about Thrifty is that picture of him wearing my Canadian flag. I will be doing my best to put it on his tombstone.

I wanted to say, as much as I loved the addition of a 4th member of the PCs to balance out the party and bounce off Aludra / act as a voice of reason, my favourite addition of the new season has been giving thrifty a player character to chime in and annoy the party with. I feel like thrifty is having more fun because he has more agency for gags rather than just responding to the absurdity and anytime Zurd is mentioned on air I can't help but starting to crack up.

I think since listening to the thanksgiving episode thrifty has been my favourite member of the cast and characters like Zurd, Luccan and Bloodrinker always remind me why I love the cast so much.

I made an embarrassing guffaw when Old Man Weck showed up in a Random Encounter episode. I'm a sucker for crossovers. Thank you, Thrifty.

I like how he tries to make me angry. I also like that he knows exactly how to do it. He is a good boy and everyone loves him.

Luccan. The. Mother. Fucking. Elf. Need I say more? But on a more serious note, all of the NPC's have been outstanding!

Is it Luccan or Lucan? Regardless, the second appearance of him in Caer made me laugh so hard I had to pull my car over. Thrifty really upped his Swear-game for that one.

Thrifty and I have been twitter friends since the twitter days of yore. His aptitude for fun and jokes knows no bounds, and conversing with him over the years has always been super interesting. He's also a great guy to bounce an idea off of, and very helpful. If you tweet a joke that you think is too deep for people to get, chances are he'll know what you thought was a deep cut.

It's been impressive to watch him become the mastermind DM that he is. Way to go, Thrifty!

I 400% agree to this. Lucan has been my all time favourite NPC since I started listening.
