That's awesome! So happy to hear somone rediscovering something they love, there is nothing that feels as good as creating and sharing art. I got started with traditional art (mech. pencils and cheap copy paper
) but digital is much cheaper in the long run and has many convienient features. I understand if Photoshop is too expensive (it is for me), but if you have an Android tab like me, look up CloverPaint on Google Play. It's the definition of a hidden gem as it's only been downloaded a few thousand tmes. The UI is confusing, but if you purchase the "EfT" in the menu, you'll get all the windows/tools you see in other image editing programs and it becomes far more easy to use.
You don't need a super expensive device, but do your reasearch and get one with as large of a screen as possile, that also has palm rejection, and pressure sensitivity if you can. But don't sweat it if you can't, I use a Samsung Tab 3 Lite, and it has none of those.
