Tips for Running a CoC Game

Postby shorttom007 » Wed Nov 23, 2016 4:06 am

Hey Geekly!

I'm getting together a Call of Cthulhu group with a few friends, and I've offered to run the game. I've only ever run one game and was hoping for some pointers on running a game in general and things to keep in mind for Call of Cthuhlu in particular.

Also, some suggestions for one-offs would be welcome as well! Not sure if we want to do a full campaign yet...

I ran the Haunting as my first CoC game a month ago. It's a classic haunted house and worked very well.

Chaosium also just released the Doors to Darkness compendium, of scenarios for beginning GMs..

Hey! I am also getting ready to run a CoC game. (Full blown campaign though) my tips are are the same for running anything, know the rules, have fun, and keep it interesting. Just because you love the story, the players may find something different the drives them, embrace it, and evenly the story will find them.
