Episode 176 - The War of Wyrmsbane Keep Part 1

The party arrived to rescue Bucky, but find themselves in the middle of the dwarven civil war.

Story

There is a large hole in the outer wall of Wyrmsbane Keep, and Earth Elementals and Oakback warriors are streaming in, with the Wyrmsbane forces on their heels. The bolts that struck down Erynn Colleen and Marlamin Windlore were fired from a siege engine with massive treads, and three dwarves protected under crystalline canopies controlling the various weapon systems. The central station controls the engine and fires the array of 30 to 40 bolts. The two satellite positions control flamethrowers. The party will have to deal with that problem later, as the ground troops approach.

Aludra announces her arrival on to the battlefield with Thunderwave after Thunderwave, and Harper follows her lead with a Thunderwave of his own as he soars above the battlefield with an Investiture of Wind. Jaela gladly engages with the troops trying to offer what protection she can to Jett Razor who seems to be the favored target among the party. With bard's natural talents not very effective against the Earth Elementals, he pulls out his new Bag of Tricks to call the giant rat McKenzie by his side. The party is able to take down quite a few of the Oakback forces, but not without taking damage of their own, and the battle rages on.

Trivia

  • It is revealed that in between episodes, the party retroactively went to the store before returning to Deephome.
  • Tim Lanning realizes he couldn't teleport the party out of the worm like he thought he could.
