There will always be a large place in my heart for the Halo video game series. It was the first series I ever really got into and probably learned most of my trash talking by playing endless hours of co-op. Maybe Halo isn’t the same since Bungie has moved on, but 343-Industries first entry with Halo 4 was strong enough to keep me hooked. Any new game in the Halo series is worth a shot, and that is why Guardians has me the most excited.

Halo 5 Guardians is a new game in the Halo franchise that picks up where we left Master Chief in Halo 4 and don’t expect it to deviate from the Halo forumla. It is set to release on the Xbox One and has been developed to “push the boundaries” of the system.  I am extremely excited for Guardians and can’t wait to get my hands on when it releases in the first half of 2015 (rumored release date is May 2015, but is just a tentative date at this time).

Also set to come out in 2015 in conjunction with the game’s release,  is a Steven Spielberg direct miniseries chronicling the Halo games. There are talks that it might be ending up on Showtime, but it doesn’t seem like anything is set in stone yet.

In the meantime you can pick up the newly released Halo: The Master Chief Collection which houses completely updated and remastered versions of the original games for the Xbox One. Also included in this pack is the chance to sign up for beta testing on Halo 5.
