I got so excited when I heard Michael say he and his wife were considering getting some bees! I also considered getting bees last year and I fully recommend getting in touch with local beekeeping associations. I did, and I learned my local beekeepers like to know where the local hives are because 1. Turf and 2. Disease. Apparently local beekeepers like to know if you’re horning in on their pollen supply or if/when your bees get sick, neither of which occurred to me before they pointed it out. Also beekeepers are cool. I ultimately decided I couldn’t commit to a hive, but I wish yall luck on your bee journey!
