The GeeklyInc Patreon

About Michael DiMauro

Michael founded GeeklyInc with Tim Lanning way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Michael could have never imagined.

We’ve been asked many times why there isn’t a Geekly-specific patreon, and the answer has been that we are a collective, and the artists own their own shows which means they are free to fundraise however they like. The network did our best to keep costs low so that we wouldn’t take direct support away from the individual shows.

Towards the end of last year, we officially outgrew our cheap web server, and we were a couple of weeks from Geekly getting shut down completely. We ended up paying the thousands of dollars out-of-pocket to upgrade to a beefier server, but we will need support to keep the servers running and keep the lights on. We also recognized that this was an opportunity for us to invest in the network, and start offering our shows much needed services.

This is NOT a replacement for the Patreons of individual shows. Every penny we make through this Patreon will be invested back into the network. While our podcasts will benefit, they won’t be getting paid, which means they won’t be getting the direct support they need to keep going. We ask that if you already support a Geekly show, that you keep your Patreon dollars with that show.

If you would like to support a Geekly show directly, you can through their Patreons:

On to the fun stuff! We are still working on additional content for our patreon, and we will be focusing on collaborations between hosts from different shows. We want to give Geeklies something they can’t get anywhere else! Our first collaboration is The Sight: Vaesen RPG which is streamed on the Geekly Twitch on Saturday nights at 8pm ET. While you can still catch it live, we will be keeping the archives as a patreon exclusive, and if we can hit our goals, we will be converting it to podcast form so that you can hear about mysterious Scandinavian monsters while you wash the dishes or drive to work.

We also are offering a shirt through Patreon’s merch system. We plan to swap in a new design every three months. Folks who have pledged at the $30 level for three months will automatically receive that season’s merch offering. This design was made by Geekly community member @DoodleKm. Please note that you will be charged immediately when subscribing, and then again on the first of the month.

If you have the means, we would greatly appreciate your support in keeping GeeklyInc going. Head over to patreon.com/geeklyinc and let us know what you think!
