About Michael DiMauro

Michael founded GeeklyInc with Tim Lanning way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Michael could have never imagined.

Dany is having the WORST day.

We recap what some people are calling the worst episode ever. Hey, the first 40ish minutes were pretty good!

Sadly, Nick is off drinking cocktails out of coconuts on a cruise ship, but Greg Tito of Dungeons & Dragons fame valiantly steps in! Don’t forget to check out D&D Live 2019: The Decent which starts on May 17th!

  1. Excellent, excellent recap, y’all! I totally agreed with you general assessment. This is not, by any means, the worst episode of Thrones, yet it for sure had its fair share of drastic missteps. That ignominious honor still goes to Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken from season 5 (Sansa rape, shitty Sand Snake fight, etc.) I also agree that the first 40 minutes or so were excellent before the whole damn thing slipped off the rails. Can’t believe there are only two precious episodes left. I just hope and pray that Winds of Winter drops sometime in the next ten years so I can get Tim and Nick’s breakdowns. You guys (and Girl) are the best.

  2. Re: Cousins vs aunt and nephew, the cousins would be have greater genetic distance (assuming the cousins themselves aren’t products of incest).

  3. OK here’s my thought about Danny. Last season the show did that cheesy manufactured drama surprise when they tried to convince us that littlefinger we succeeding at turning Sansa and Arya against each other. I think they’re doing the same thing this season except now we’re supposed to be duped into thinking that Dany is going to be the mad king 2.0, but halfway into the final episode someone will get through to her and she’s going to go full benevolent leader somehow. I think it’s really forced and not great, but I’m not 1000% annoyed because I think I see what they’re doing.
