About Michael DiMauro

Michael founded GeeklyInc with Tim Lanning way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Michael could have never imagined.

Hello and welcome to Cast of Thrones! We sincerely hope that our new schedule is more to your liking. This week we cover some of the best chapters in A Clash of Kings. If you have read the books we go through a bit of spoilery fun (at the very end after the song break) with Dany’s house of the undying vision. Also, we accidentally watched Bears playing ice hockey and were never the same again.

  1. do y’all still get notifications when someone comments on one of these? i hope so!

first of all. i was a Cast of Thrones fan through the duration of the TV show, and there were definitely times when your show was better than Game of Thrones itself. I miss y’all.

I was sitting around in quarantine, rereading Clash of Kings by night and frustratedly trying and quitting millions of dumb podcasts by day, when I remembered your book reread episodes. So I have been revisiting them today and laughing hysterically all over again – they hold up far better than the TV show will!

ANYWAY, my main reason for writing. at the end of this episode, one of you went, “join us… WOOON’T you?” like kind of dramatic to the point of seeming a bit mocking. and i was like, okay, WHAT is that from, because it’s the tagline of the You Must Remember This Podcast, where it’s also delivered with that pause in the middle.

but when I google it, even with the phrase in quotes and even when adding “what is _____ from,” I ONLY find You Must Remember This. a podcast that began some time in 2014 according to its own website, so between 6-18 months after this episode aired.

So is it from some obscure old movie or Mystery Science Theater or something and the YMRT podcast has just overtaken the Google results? or are you psychic? or was the host of YMRT a fan of Cast of Thrones and this very episode inspired her entire podcast?

    please advise.
