About Michael DiMauro

Michael founded GeeklyInc with Tim Lanning way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Michael could have never imagined.

  1. You guys should post scans of your character sheets and/or images of the map of what you’ve been through so far.

(I don’t really know how DnD works, maybe there’s nothing visual to post. It just would make it more interesting to follow along with something tangible.)

Anyway, I’m a big Cast of Thrones fan, that just found my way here. I’m about to listen to episode 2.

  2. We think this is a great idea! We are working on a lot of small ideas at the beginning to make sure everything is A-OK for the listeners. I know it can get a little confusing at times…Thanks for listening!

  3. This was really entertaining! I definitely laughed out loud at thrifty’s description of the skeleton bursting about. I’m officially a fan. 😀

  4. Hey, nice podcast. FYI–all melee attacks (including dagger) use the Strength modifier. Ranged attacks use dexterity. Strength attacks with certain weapons can use your dexterity modifier, IF you take the Weapon Finesse feat for that particular weapon.

(at least, this is the way things work in 3.5)

  5. Hey Eric! Thanks for listening. What you are saying is true in reference to melee basic attacks, which is why Tum tries to never use them. But all his others use dex. I could take a feat that lets me use dex for melee basics, but it didn’t seem as fun.

  6. Great job guys! Tim you really crack me up haha. Keep up the good work and silly puns. I’m learning a lot more about DnD from listening to these podcasts.

  7. Just found out about this podcast, it is fantastic. I have been podcasting for two years and know that it is rough starting out but you guys were incredible from the first episode. Cant wait to see how it progresses.

Do you guys still put out new episodes?

    • Thanks Casey! We are still cranking away! We just released episode 159. To be fair, 3 of our 5 hosts had already podcasted together for almost 2 years when we started DnD. We got our start with Cast of Thrones.

  8. I realize how inappropriate it is to comment on nearly six year old posts but you seem to answer.
is there a spot where I can get a “next episode” button instead of having to go back to the eps list? I decided to start over since I got to ep 40 or 50 and had to break for a while, and forgot where I was. That would help a lot, if it’s obvious and i’m missing it then blame uh lead in drinking water or something. too soon.

also your podcast and others made me get back into DMing, first session in 20 years already under my belt, another one coming up this week! huzzah!

    • This is great to hear about you getting into DMing! And…as of right now I don’t think we have that functionality? But it is something to think about for sure!

  9. Just got into podcasting myself (we do a Star Wars actual play called Ragtag) and I started checking out a lot of different actual play podcasts for ideas and inspiration. So far, you guys are far and away my favorite! I know this was a looooong time ago, but I’ll catch up eventually lol

  10. I never comment on things on sites, BUT….. I LOVE this podcast. How did I not know about this before now?? I love Dungeons and Dragons and this is fantastic. I’m a gamer who loves watching other gamers on YouTube, but it’s very visual, so I can’t exactly move about. With this, I can move around and go about my day whilst listening to this. Thank you for creating this masterpiece <3

  11. Hail from the future! I JUST discovered this hysterical Podcast this last August! Since then, I’ve been binge listening to you guys on Spotify. I’ve listened to about three to four episodes a night with a few (Undesired) breaks. You guys are absolutely amazing at what you do and what you’ve accomplished! I’ve been playing D&D for eighteen years now (since I was six years old) and have had many DMs. You sir, Mr. Michael Dimauro, is a truly amazing and talented DM. Your skills of convincing serious and comical, Happieness and sadness (RIP [redacted]), Joy and anger. I’m currently on episode 39 and hope to be fully caught up by next year XD. I’ve followed you all on Twitter and the Drunks and Dragon’s Facebook page. I’ll be walking your cast and hope to be listening for years to come.

I have to go dear dungeon master, but to you, I will say one last thing…

    Keep it Dicey~

  12. You had mentioned in the podcast what equipment is being used my core group of friends is scattered much like in this podcast and if I had the correct equipment we could game again tha js

  13. I remember listening to this pod way back when in a fairly dark period in my life, and remember how much I enjoyed listening, and how many times i laughed at all the dumb jokes, and being ecstatic when my itunes review was read after the session. I am not disappointed in going back in time. I stopped listening around the time the live episode where 5e was switched to, but will enjoy catching up in due time. I am so glad to see you guys are still playing.
