Episode 79 – I am Sorry

By Tim Lanning on

About Tim Lanning

Tim founded GeeklyInc with Michael DiMauro way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Tim could have never imagined.

This is a shorter episode of Drunks and Dragons. I hope you don’t take that out against us since we tried to pack as much story into this shorter episode as the digital walls could stand. No, what this episode lacks in length it more than makes up for in emotion. So prepare your hearts and minds for a confrontation that has been 79 episodes in the making.

The adventure continues with Titus Harper (Tim Lanning), Thom the Dragonborn (Mike Bachmann), Aludra (Jennifer Cheek) and your Dungeon Master (Michael DiMauro).

Drunks and Dragons is a weekly podcast using the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition ruleset. Please let us know what you think!

  1. Wow. That was unexpected. Thrifty, is there anything that they could have done differently? If they would have just bailed completely, would you have let them live? It has me thinking ( just like after the you-know-what wedding), that certain choices should not have been made. That if they were just planned on him being a jerk, (particularly since Harper gave them the heads up) it could have been different. Any thoughts?

PS. Yowza! That was brutal. So psyched for Arya, I mean Bucky to seek revenge!

  2. Thrifty, your skill at story-weaving has really made me step up my game as a DM at home. Except I don’t really get to play anymore since my friends and I all work odd shifts. For a long time tabletop gaming has been a shining beacon of joy in an otherwise depressing life, so thank you for allowing me to play vicariously through podcast in such a fun and rich story. If I do get to play IRL again, you can bet Thom, Alludra, Harper (my favourite), and Tum are all gonna be NPCs.

  3. All I know is that I cried, pissed my pants a little, sharted then wept for other reasons. HOW?! WHY?! MY GOD MY PANTS ARE RUINED!!! But seriously though….Thrifty, I love it. Keep up the great work and bring tom back. FUCK HARPER!!!!!!!

  4. damn it I’ve been listening since episode 5 I’ve never missed a week since I found this podcast.I’m thrown for a loop I don’t even know what to say anymore.but I know the story will continue in one way or another and I will still listen.great podcast

  5. Truly unexpected and the closing theme was great.

That said, I’m in the camp of “there’s no F’ing way THAT is how it ends!”
There has to be a bigger thing, someone has to save them and get them on the path of vengeance and setting things right by killing him.

  6. The music in the background was so friggin dope. When Roz showed up that was the effin nail in the coffin. Best episode ever! I look forward to the dream sequence episode where the DM wakes up from this adventure.

  7. Never have I hated myself so much for being up-to-date on a podcast. Now I have to wait more than 30 seconds did the next episode 🙁

  8. *POSSIBLE GOT SPOILER*
    *GOT SPOILER ALERT*

I feel the same way about this as i feel about a certain character at the end of ADWD, Nah, they’ll be back. Thrifty just pulled a JarJar

    *POSSIBLE GOT SPOILER*
    *GOT SPOILER ALERT*

  9. Just finished this episode and wanted to say Bravo. Im sure most will be fine, that is a time machine in the room with them. About to start the next to hopefully find out I’m right.

  10. I just got to this episode on my third listen through of the series. Like everyone else, I’d like to say how amazing this episode is. It gets better every time time I listen (much like the Banana Fosters episodes, or the Ice Cream For Bucky episode).

  11. WHAT THE SHIT, THRIFTY?! Brains blown to bits, and Roz a traitor… top notch way to go. Srsly. I loved that you at least sounded very hesitant when heads exploded, and also makes sense why you wanted everyone to get away so easy from the Beholder. Now Thrifty will need to live up to these Tarantino-esque endings, please do. 😉
