Episode 154 – The Battle Above the Abyss Part 4

By Tim Lanning on

About Tim Lanning

Tim founded GeeklyInc with Michael DiMauro way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Tim could have never imagined.

We have put it off as long as we could but there is not turning back from fate, I guess. All of the other avenues we explored didn’t pan out so it looks like there is no other choice but to swing this hammer to save the world. We four adventurers knew this day was coming and now that it is finally here we know that our victory over the Demons will be hollow. Yes, the world will be saved, which is definitely a good thing. But… one of us will die.

After you have listened to the audio version go ahead and check out the below video. You should listen to the official podcast version first.

  1. *long dramatic yell*
    THOOOOOOMMM….NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

(damn it..two of my favorite characters are dead…oh you wretched people. Get a guy to fall in love with a character..then just wreck his poor little heart!)

  2. I never saw that coming, even when Thrifty threw a wrench in works. I must have looked like a fool laughing my ass off driving home today while listening to turmoil over the fate of B.D.

Kudos though go to Bachman you beautiful bastard, you may have created the best podcast moment of all time. You better come back as a Bard!

  3. Bravo, BRAVO! Standing and clapping. Amazing episode. Great Arc. Loved Bachman’s song at the end. I was weeping at my desk. It felt like I to had my dick cut off. Please could we get a music video, maybe a slideshow of his fan art adventures. Sneaky bastard stashed Steve somewhere too.

  4. Damn dingin’ dragon dicks! I’m so miffed I missed this on Twitch! Ugh. So good. I feel like this was the best outcome that could have happened. It was perfect and beautiful. All of you are great. The way everyone was doing their best to use the hammer staying true to their character, leading up to a super dramatic end we’ve all been anticipating, only for it to end and be dragged out longer and longer and longer, like damn dingin’ dragon dicks.

    You people are beautiful.

  5. I must notify you that I am now suing you. You gave me whiplash from all the TWISTS! Oh man, this was a much better payoff than I ever expected. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

  6. I thought it was going to be Aludra for sure, Then we could have Jennifer playing the Teifling wizard-theif character she played in the flash-back in Yangar. I keep hopeing for that character to make a comeback.

  7. I’d have to say this is the DnD podcast in which I was least surprised to hear a character sent off with about ten minutes straight of vomiting/farting noises*, but most surprised to hear them sent off to the strains of some Jeff Lynne karaoke. Well done.

    *not in a bad way

  8. and so at last, we come to this..
I was here nearly from the beginning…what an awesome 3 years…looking forward to the next 3…

    my sincere thanks..

  9. Holy crap, i almost didnt realize Mike Bacharat(mann) was the one singing. Mp3 of the song? :)))) also is there any footage of Bachmann doing standup? Or Tim doing improv?

  10. If there has ever been a time to encourage anyone to listen to an episode all the way to the end, this is that time, and I do very strongly.
    P.S. THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!

  11. Dude Mike Bauchmann’s is killing it with that song. Brings a tear to my eye. BTW, can you tell i’m not caught up yet?

  12. That was one of the best episodes (so far, I’m still listening through). So much emotion, hilarity, and of course the best line ever delivered.

  13. I listened to this episode right after watching Avengers Endgame…. Im tired of losing my facorite characters. 🙁

  14. Frick you! Frick you! Frick you!
    Arrrrrgggghhhh!
The worse part wasn’t that I was going to bawl up at 1 point – until you guys followed suit and got sooper normal (to your tastes) and started laughing?!?
But that I saw a tweet, just last week, that themikebachmann had liked or retweeted mentioning X’s death and managed to convince myself it wasn’t happening. And if it did it suuuuuure wouldn’t be this brilliant set of episodes. More like 253 or 254?!
