This week your adventurers are faced with a brand new set of un-friendly faces. When a potential new friend crosses their path, things turn ugly really fast. The inhabitants of this crazy world really hate our heroes. It is almost like everything revolves around them while catastrophe follows in their wake.
We are also announcing our Drunks and Dragons Kickstarter! The short version is we have been having some audio issues resulting mostly from our recording gear. For the most part we have been able to hide the majority from your ears but we wanted to level up our equipment! Plus, this is one of the best ways to reward our loyal listeners with some DnD branded swag!
The adventure continues with Tum Darkblade (Tim Lanning), Thom the Dragonborn (Mike Bachmann), Junpei Iori (Steven Strom), Aludra (Jennifer Cheek) and your Dungeon Master (Michael DiMauro).
Drunks and Dragons is a weekly podcast using the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition ruleset. Please let us know what you think!
Screens from this week’s adventure to assist with your theater of the mind:
- Oh no… I sense trouble
- A beautiful group of people. I hope they are not related to Tum.
- Aludra moves in for the defense
- Oh no. Several people are down.
- Oh no, we are all knocked out.
Don’t know if you guys will see a comment this far back but I’ve recently found your podcast. Listen to it on the commute to work everyday and loving it.
Pledged for a dice bag…. I want to hear more Roz!!! Her sexy voice makes me weak every week….
Also more songs!
I agree, Roz is an awesome NPC. It’s a mix between her bad French accent and her racy past. We want MORE Roz (less VD)!
Love the podcast, wish you had a facebook for us non Twitter folk 🙁

Oh shit! Thrifty wastes no time!
Omagaw! My doodles!
Dang, I haven’t listened all the way through this week’s episode but I saw the images on this webpage. SPOILER ALERT! Should have hidden those somehow.
Also, it’d be super sweet if you all learned how to do Inspiring Word and what it does. Every episode it seems like you always ask each other what effects it does.
Keep up the great work!
love the new theme music – totally rad!
Thanks! Be sure to stalk @ZacharyCates on twitter. He and I are going to be working on some other non-D&D related stuff in the future!
Oh goodness. Someone pledged the $1000 to kill a character…I’m already sad about who could possibly die…but way to support the podcast!
Death doesn’t necessarily mean a character is gone in D&D. Resurrection is relatively easy, if a bit expensive. That said, bringing the character back to life might cheapen the donation itself a bit.
Personally, I’m hoping the donor is generous and doesn’t demand anything permanent. It would be a shame to lose any of the characters at this point in the game.
While we haven’t talked about it much, I think we’re all pretty committed to the idea that if a character dies, they’re gone. (The exception of course being Junpei after his head asploded but that was written into the story and it was only a couple minutes between death and resurrection.
That being said, it’s entirely up to the donor how he wants to spin his wicked web. Should he want the death permanent, it will most definitely be permanent. Don’t expect us to tell, though. 😉
Well, I think it’s cool you guys are so willingly leaving the fate of one of the characters in the hands of the donor. Of course, if I had $1000 to donate, I’d expect nothing less 😀
One of my favorite episodes! So many quotable moments… “I never pull out of a minor,” “I’m in a peanut butter fugue” (Jennifer kills me lol). Love it.
I do want to bring this up; I read it today for my game that I’m running (because of this podcast, might I add) – Page 186 in PHB1, under Intimidate -> Success: “You force a bloodied target to surrender,”. I imagine Thom could have needed that information this go around! With a 28 I imagine that would have beaten the DC but in this particular setting Thrifty might have set that to 30… anyways…
Also, I pledged $10 to your Kickstarter. Thanks for being awesome, and everyone keep up the good work! Glad to see it got funded so quickly!
Yeah we will definitely take that into consideration. I don’t remember where I read that intimidate works the way we’ve been using it. Probably found it in a Dogpile.com or AltaVista search. :/
Hope I’m not too late to give this suggestion. Please give Anti-Tum the Minotaur a fighting skill called “Fly Slourish!” I would be so grateful! Thanks!
Gah! I would have loved that. We record every Wednesday at 8pm EST.
Why does it end in the middle of combat and why has no one mentioned it? Did something happen to the archive at some point? The next episode doesn’t mention any technical issues…
Delete and redownload, it should work now!
Awesome! Thanks for the quick fix.
I am very sad to say that this podcast cuts off right around the 1:44 mark while using ios. Please fix it 🙁
Delete and redownload, it should work now!
Thank you! It seems to work now (tried a different browser) and I got to hear the exciting finish 😀
DM is such a cheater. Only 2 rolls less than 20. Makes me so mad. Seriously he cheats.
There is a comment from the year 2002. . . . What?
why no math song?
In this episode two of the siblings have the same names as me Xavier and Evan(if its spelled like that) love the show was recommended by a friend and has been great.
