About Michael DiMauro

Michael founded GeeklyInc with Tim Lanning way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Michael could have never imagined.

Hello, dear Drunks (and Dragons?). Have you recovered from last week’s very dramatic episode? Are you ready for another intense and surprising adventure with our ragtag crew? You’re not? Better slug some grog and gird your loins, because we’re getting dicey up in here. This week’s episode centers around fond farewells and quests both old and new. So put in your headphones! We’re going to the Lost Isle.

The adventure continues with Tum Darkblade (Tim Lanning), Thom the Dragonborn (Mike Bachmann), Junpei Iori (Steven Strom), Aludra (Jennifer Cheek) and your Dungeon Master (Michael DiMauro).

Drunks and Dragons is a weekly podcast using the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition ruleset. Please let us know what you think!

  1. What the heck, Tum is Dead, Junpei is leaving (wearing only a hat), Robb Stark is dead, my life is falling apart! Whats next, are you going to tell me that Harry and Hermoine DON’T end up together? Or that Vader is actually Lukes Father? What a sad sad day

  2. It’s a shame to lose the status quo, when the podcast was so good… But I imagine it only gets better from here. I’m excited to hear the future of Drunks and Dragons!

  3. Really? Half the cast gone? Seriously as a listener who has contributed absolutely nothing to the podcast except petty demands I feel like I’m entitled to some GD answers! Or at least the one answer. I know why tum is gone……

  4. Awww, poor Tim! It’s like you guys put him in time-out for this episode 🙁 He could have stuck around and supplied some wonderful commentary — not that Jennifer and the Mikes didn’t hold up well in the beginning before Steve arrived only to leave.

Can’t wait until the next installment! 😀

  5. I have contributed to the kickstarter and have been listening since episode 5… What is going to happen now… How are you going to complete your goals without Strom… What about the Gamma World game? What about the main feed, are you adding a new cast member… I love listening to you guys and loved all of your characters. Yes i even loved Strom’s lame jokes and his character, he was getting so interesting… Well i hope you have answers for me, thanks for everything you guys do its always entertaining!!!

    • Hey Austin,

We will certainly fulfill all of our kickstarter goals. Gamma World is already going over at random.dndpodcast.com and we have internet sensation Nick Bristow filling in for Strom.

We will most likely add another person to the team, but not right away. It has to make sense in the story, and we also have a whole bunch of guest appearances we are lining up.

I hope you will keep listening to the show, I think it is only going to get better from here.

      Thanks!

  6. Strom started off strong, but has been acting like the super excitable loud nerds at the gaming store. I’m excited to see where the podcast goes! You guys are doing awesome!

  7. Best of luck to Strom in whatever he does now. I remember listening to the first couple of episodes and not realizng that Junpei was the character’s name. So my first mental picture of Strom the player was of possible asian/indian/eskimo heritage. Cheers.

  8. I was convinced that Tim had rolled 2 new characters, Flint and Harper, and was going to decide on which to play based on who Aludra and Thom chose to add to the crew.

:kicksrock: Anxiously awaiting the “next” episode to see who joins the currently pitiful little band.

  9. So totally 2 years late. That’s OK. Figured I’d listen from beginning to end at work. Worth every second.

I’ll miss Dorkblade. He was a good character. I don’t think I’ll miss Strom that much. He started off well, but as soon as he started playing DS during the podcast, you could kind of tell he was losing interest. That’s OK. I’m sure he’s gone on to do good things.

Can’t wait to see the new characters. I can’t believe you guys have so many episodes! Keep up the great work!

  10. Some time in the future, a band of dungeon raiders will discover the hideous death that awaits them in the form of Tum “The Zombie Hulk” Thumble. Up side, Tum should be size medium now. Stay classy Tum, and always let your Sly always flourish.

  11. Aww Junpei too 🙁

Hope Steven strom comes back every now and then, his role as a space pirate in the astral plane seems conducive to randomly showing up, but even if he doesn’t I’ll always remember that awesome moment when his character became a cannibal. It was genius and I still laugh about it. Hope everything’s going well for him 🙂

  12. Listening for the first time, sooooo happy that Strom is off the cast. While Tim and Bachman can be a little silly sometimes, Tim is a good team player and Bachman is genuinely hilarious and his character is consistently roleplayed. Strom is rarely funny and his character’s chaotic stupid actions were a liability to the party and a huge drag on the story. He is the classic case of a player taking things off the rails over and over again in an attempt to make the story about him and hiding behind the shield of “role-playing”. I’m sorry, but doing a bunch of random gratuitous BS with no logical motivation or consistency is not role-playing a character, because there’s no character there. Just random distractions. Thom the Dragonborn is everything Junpei wasn’t – consistent, entertaining, and possessing logical (albeit bizarre) motivations. Junpei was none of those things, and his player was annoying and disruptive to boot. Looking forward to a much better podcast now that he’s gone!

  13. Hi, hello.

I enjoy all of you very much. I’ve enjoyed working my way through your archives during the past month.

Sadly, heaping praise upon your work isn’t the only thing that spurred me to comment on this episode.

No, I comment today because this was the day that I finally realized the DM was not introducing himself as Micheal: ‘Thrifty Nerd of Tomorrow!’ but instead was just inserting his nickname between his first and last names.

Time to buy some hearing aids I suppose.

  14. Could i get that end intro music? Its awsome and i need it as my ringtone. Also, crushed. Reflex. Jun pei had grown so muxh as a character. Shame it was in succh a destructive path. To many wild cards. He cut the breaks
