Game of Thrones S2E3 – What is Dead May Never Die

About Michael DiMauro

Michael founded GeeklyInc with Tim Lanning way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Michael could have never imagined.

This week’s episode of Game of Thrones veers further from the source material than ever before, and yet it is our favorite of the season. The celluloid version fills in many of the blanks that just weren’t possible to see in the character view points of the paper version.

The Cast of Thrones hosts also veer far and wide from the source material, and common sense. They discuss what is really incest? How far did Theon go down Yara’s pants? Does Brienne have a feminine walk and is she related to Hodor?

  1. This episode of Cast of Thrones was awesome. I literally was laughing so hard during the breakdown of the scene with Loras, Renly, and Maegery. I think you guys need to do a special episode titled “Sex in Westeros” to further explore this topic lol.

  2. An utter Thronegasm!

You did a great job picking apart these scenes and providing color commentary when entertaining and necessary. It’s interesting to see how the series is handling the change from being Stark-centric to being a much larger scope. You podcast is adapting well.

An idea for future episode – an awards episode, the Casties? If you decide to have a sausage fest episode, you could call it “the Westerbros”. Am I right, bro?

  3. So interesting the interview with Cogman says that the guy doing the ‘Ironborn Baptism’ isn’t Damphair just one of the Drowned Gods priests.

  4. The podcast continues to be a hoot. It’s great to have a GoT review that’s also so amusing. I enjoy that you guys are clearly having as much fun recapping as we all are watching the show.

And I’ll sign off with what I imagine are now Cast of Thrones’ words; May your days be dark and full of donkeys.

  5. As the evil A-hole who requested less talking about the book on the Podcast about the show, I’m an hour into this one I’ve counted the word ‘book’/’paper version’ being mentioned 51 times in the first 60 minutes. Yet it still feels like its been mentioned half as much as in last 2 podcasts.

And when the paper version vs. Celluloid was brought up, rather than just list changes, hosts talked about how they felt about changes. C’est magnifique!

This is a really great show, keep up the good work

    • Eddard is all about honor not guile and games. He doesn’t want to shed blood while the King is dying, he tells the Queen that he knows her secret so as to give her a ccahne to flee .after all she still is the Queen. I loved the scene with Osha and look forward to seeing her more. She was chained up and doing menial tasks yet she held her own against her “superiors”. The actor who plays Jorah Mormont has been quietly great so far. We clearly see how he thinks things through before saving Danaerys’s life. He obviously was part of the plot in exchange for a pardon but he turned it down as he begins to beleive in her.
