About Michael DiMauro

Michael founded GeeklyInc with Tim Lanning way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Michael could have never imagined.

Hello monster hunters, we have a ghost on the loose in these here halls of Harrenhal! Heck, I even heard a rumor of a shadow baby down near Storm’s End that dang near killed Renly Baratheon. Strange times indeed, what with Catelyn Stark and Brienne of Tarth joining forces and the Night’s Watch ranging beyond the wall hunting for wights. Phooey! Even King’s Landing speaks of a demon monkey, but I bet that is just the fools talking about Tyrion Lannister and his magic fire, but you didn’t hear that from me! Qarth reports sightings of dragons, but you can’t trust no one from Essos. Besides, we have our own ghosts here in Harrenhal, what with the Tickler dying like he did. Life sure is peculiar as of late.

  1. this is my favorite episode of the new season so far (but I think I say that after every new episode lol) looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
As a person that has not read the books I really appreciate that you keep the podcast spoiler free and don’t even hint at what is to come (or maybe you do and I don’t realize it) I did not see Renley’s death coming

  2. Hey guys,

Love the podcast. After listening, just wanted to send a couple of things your way. The wildfire from the episode is probably derived from Greek fire, which had a similar impacts and was overseen by a particular order:
Also, wasn’t clear whether you guys knew that litters were a real thing that existed in history (my apologies if you did), but they’ve been around for a while and are also known as “king carriers:”

  3. Love the podcast. I’m with you mr Chen. Once that smoke baby was pushed? out. All bets were off. Not sure where to put my hopes now!

Ps. Yep. Great shirtless shot hehe

  4. Another great podcast guys – I made my wife listen to the Gendry bit!

A couple of things I noticed about the Jaqen scenes.
First he walks past Arya and they ignore each other, she she runs down to the water barrel. He’s beaten her down to the water barrel placed his helmet on it, and then hidden behind the pillar – sneaky sneak skills.

Then when the tickler meets his end, notice what he’s munching on? One of the ticklers pears!

I also like that Stannis seems to look a bit haggard – nothing comes for free in Westeros. (oh and in casting news, Shirleen is being cast for next season).

  5. Great work as always, y’all. Tim’s Great Gazoo reference was so out of left field and it was so funny that I shot milk out of my nose. I wasn’t even drinking milk.
