The Young Pope goes to Africa and we talk a lot about Charlie Hunnam.
Want the shirt we mentioned on the show, head on over to our store!
Your Young Pope Hosts are Tim Lanning, Jennifer Cheek and Ben Gibb. We are thankful for your listenership. If you have any questions or comments going forward tweet at us using the #PopeZone hashtag and we will see it!
The music in the episode comes is “Beat the Clock” by Max Cameron from the Young Pope trailer. This song is still amazing.

I am so damn happy ya’ll are doing this podcast and giving me a reason to keep slogging through this insane beautiful mess of a TV program. Like Ben, I have never seen Pacific Rim but will listen to that podcast too, though I can’t imagine it being as batshit crazy as Young Pope.
One thing though- you keep saying how all the Americans in the show are bad except Jude Law. But of course he’s not American, he’s just playing an American (an American supervillain with magic powers, of course). So maybe there’s your answers. America is bad.
PS- RIP Cardinal Pouches. You were too beautiful and too good a jumper for this world.
OH MY GOD JUDE LAW IS NOT AMERICAN OF COURSE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Thanks for the great pod, very funny and helpful.
Regarding the two empty coffins in Venice, I think iRobot was referring to Young Pope’s parents. I seem to recall Sister Mary mentioning that YP’s parents left him at the orphanage so they could go to Venice, though as the show is largely reminiscent of a fever dream I could be mistaken.
OOooo this sounds about right.
