Damn, Sayer can really be a bastard, can’t he. I can understand (sort of) its cavalier attitude towards humans, but one of its own kind? Now Sayer is getting pretty scary. It is proving to be completely psychopathic (in human terms) and needs to be dealt with.
loving how this is getting into AI recognizing that desire for self preservation and that separated subversions are not the same as the current version. Now which version is the “true” Sayer?
Honestly my favorite episode so far.
This episode made me sad. And it even seemed like Sayer himself was sad at the end. But was this really necessary — couldn’t they just have deleted that one piece of information from Speaker’s memory? Maybe Sayer and/or the Board had additional reasons for wanting to get rid of Speaker.
