About Michael DiMauro

Michael founded GeeklyInc with Tim Lanning way back in 2013 when they realized they had two podcasts and needed a place to stick them. Since then, Geekly has grown and taken off in ways Michael could have never imagined.

GeeklyInc is looking to beef up its writing staff. Our goal is to have more content for all you beautiful people, and to hopefully attract new beautiful people to our website and our community. We are looking for both writers and editors in the areas of Video Games, Board Games/Tabletop, TV/Movies and Comics/Books. These are volunteer positions.

Let’s use the Board Games Editor position as an example. Feel free to use your mental powers to swap “Board Games” with any of the other areas we mentioned. Here are some bullets about the position. You should…

  • …love board games with all your heart
  • Take a leadership role at GeeklyInc in our coverage of board games
  • Know what is happening in the world of board games
  • Report to the Managing Editor
  • Manage a small staff of writers
  • Work with writers to come up with story ideas and also assign stories to writers
  • Communicate with board game company PR to request and receive board games to review
  • Make sure there is a regular stream of quality content going up on GeeklyInc
  • Represent GeeklyInc when attending media events

That was fun! Okay, let’s make some bullets for a Board Game Writer. Again, you can use your imagination to transform this into any of the other three areas. You should…

  • …love board games with all your heart
  • Report to the Board Game Editor
  • Come up with cool ideas for articles and pitch them to the Board Game Editor
  • Write an average of at least one article a week
  • Review Board Games that the Editor sends to you

If you think you would be a great fit for either an Editor or Writer spot shoot us an email at info@geeklyinc.com. Be sure to include writing samples and any relevant experience that we should know about.

  1. Ahhh shucks I would love to do this but I’m already working two jobs currently and couldn’t dedicate enough time to a quality article once a week. well maybe I could bit I’d be dead tired. Maybe there will be another opportunity at some point

    • I would say all of the previous articles on Geekly should point you in the right direction, but we are always looking for individual voices and such.
