When I started planning this year’s charity stream I’d never heard of Covid-19 and had no idea that the world would be in this state come April. A lot of events at the moment are focusing their efforts on Covid-related charities but others still need our support so we made the decision to stick with The Trevor Project. It seemed especially important to us during this time when a lot of people are locked down and isolated from their usual support systems.
We realized that this year’s stream would likely raise a little less money than usual and as such, we set our goal for this year at $6,000. So many people are currently out of work and struggling. This is why I was so surprised when you not only reached our $6k goal but you blew it out of the gosh darn water. You raised an incredible $13,169 and the donations are still rolling in!*
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the charity stream this year. Whether you donated to The Trevor Project, appeared on the stream, or just gave us moral support in the chat, we couldn’t have done it without all of you!
Thank you to all of the GeeklyInc podcast hosts from ‘Dear Internet’, ‘Greetings Adventurers‘, ‘Transformation Sequence‘, ‘Naruto Reviewto‘, ‘Brute Force‘, ‘Welcome to St. Paxton‘ and ‘Random Encounters‘, and an extra-special thank you to our guests from ‘The Faeforge Academy‘ and the ‘S House Studio‘ podcast network, who all donated their time and their talents to fill the stream with entertainment.
Thanks also go to all of the companies and people who donated items for our prize giveaways; ‘Slugfest Games‘, ‘Brotherwise Games‘, ‘Arcane Wonders’, ‘Dungeons Co.’, ‘JBG Garage Crafts‘, ‘Carmic Industries‘, and Ashley Warren.
I’m pretty sure that I speak for everyone here at GeeklyInc and The Trevor Project when I thank each and every single one of you from the bottom of my heart for all your support during the stream. Every year you really step up to the challenge and this stream would not work if we didn’t have such an amazing community. The fact that you raised so much money while the world is in this current state is unbelievable. I’m extremely grateful to be a part of this community and I’m proud of each and every one of you.
Thank you all, so much.
*At the time of writing this we’re sitting at $13,304. The donation page will stay open for the rest of the year, so you can still support the cause if you would like to.
