So when I first read this series, I accidentally skipped The House of Always & went straight from the 3rd to the 5th book. I listened to the audiobooks & my silly brain pulled a dyslexic trick on me & I got the order of the 4th & 5th books wrong. What’s wild is I couldn’t really tell that I missed a book until the very end of the House of Always & I only figured it out because it was such final battle energy that I was like “there’s no way there’s a whole other book after this still!”
I then re-listened to books 1-3, then book 4, & had everything fall into place much smoother. All the character development suddenly made sense & it was amazing to learn that there was so much more context!
