Vincent realised he was a lifelong nerd the moment he printed out his own Sailor Moon t-shirt at the age of 16 and wore it to school. Makoto Yuki begins a new school year in Tatsumi Port Island, but due to a delayed train, he arrives in town just before midnight. As the clock strikes twelve, he experiences the Dark Hour, where the residents of the city transform into horrifying standing coffins and the sky is filled with an ominous moon.
Makoto soon joins SEES, the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, and along with other students of Gekkokan Highschool seeks to find the reason for the Dark Hour and to stop the assault of the mysterious and aggressive Shadows.
