  1. So, spoiler regarding Thaena getting power from the maevanos and the difference between the 8 (or 7, or 9, or 18, depending on how you look at these things) Immortals:

A God-King is a person who figured out how to gain tenye from the power of belief and sacrifice. They absolutely want more worshippers and more sacrifices to them, because that’s how they get their power.

The Immortals don’t do this. They are tied to universal concepts. They get their power from the existence of reality, not people’s belief. S’arric was tied to the Sun (and stars in general). He got his power from the existence of nuclear fusion, sunlight, etc.

Thaena gets her power (broadly speaking) from the realm of death. The BELIEF of the person dying is irrelevant.

She does ‘auto-resurrect’ her ‘angels’: the Black Brotherhood and other devoted servants of hers. Everyone else is on a case-by-case basis, such as her refusing to bring back Therin’s wife.
