Tara: Last year on our way to GeeklyCon I got kind of obsessed with board game apps. We had a couple of crazy layovers so it really helped to pass the time. Before I had even really met any of the other Geeklyinc contributors I asked the chat if anyone would want to play online with us. Bijaya enthusiastically agreed to join our game of Lords of Waterdeep. And for a complete newbie to board games, she was pretty damn good! Phil: Much of my free time has been dedicated to playing Patchwork. A game about creating a quilt from mismatched patches of fabric and trying to get the least amount of holes in your quilt. While the theme is not fantastic the gameplay really makes up for it. You will be trying to fit the rejected Tetris pieces into a 9×9 area. Patchwork wonderful game to pass and play, battle the AI or even play online against friends. I cannot recommend this game enough.

Each player is racing to gather resources that they’ll mine using drills on islands at sea. Players can battle using submarines and special units that can change the outcome of a battle, and planning takes place hours in advance. For people with a diplomatic abilities and a strategic mind, this game may be perfect.
