PS+ June Titles

By Patrick Rankin on

June is the best! As far as months go, it’s definitely in the top 12. To make this June even better, Shuhei Yoshida is treating all PS+ subscribers to six free games!

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (PS4)

MGSV

A short, visually stunning romp with your old pal Snake….Snake…Snake!?!?! Lol, just a Metal Gear goof. Serioulsy though. Ground Zeroes is a ton of fun and will help get you ready for MGSV. “What if I’m new to the franchise, will I know what’s going on in the story?” No, of course you won’t, but Kojima is a mad man, no one knows what is going on in the story. My friend Clay has played every one and I’m pretty sure the only character he knows is Snake…Snake…Snake?!?!?! Haha, nice joke call back. We’re having fun.

Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition (PS4)

I’ve been saying it for ten damn years, ain’t I been saying it Miguel? I want tactical strategy games and it looks like my ranting and raving has paid off. Xbox is giving out Massive Chalice and our boys at Sony are matching it with Skulls of the Shogun. I downloaded this as soon as it was available. I can’t wait to find some time when I’m not playing the Witcher 3 to spend a little time here. Cartoon graphics, wonderful dialogue and that flawless tactical battle mechanic that I crave make Skulls of the Shogun a Bone-a-fide hit in my book. PUNS!

Super Exploding Zoo (PS4/PS Vita)

I’m absolutely going to play this game. Does it look incredibly fun? No, not really. Will it help me collect trophies on the trip I’m taking this weekend so I can get my trophy score higher than that guy Clay I mentioned a few games up? Absolutely! In all seriousness, the game looks like just the type of Vita game you need during commutes or longer bathroom breaks. Guide some penguins and their zoo pals around, when you amass enough, blow up ghoulies while still having a few furry buddies left. What’s not to like?

Futuridium EP Deluxe (PS4/PS Vita)

Things Futuridium has: A dope name, sweet techno vibe, enthralling and catchy music, puzzles, non-stop shooting action and hours of fun.

I’ve had my headphones on, zipping around hyperspace for a good portion of the day. I think you’ll like this gem, despite…

Things Futuridium doesn’t have: a platinum trophy.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (PS3)

Westerns are amazing. As far as genres go, I think they are underrepresented in video games. They allow for a pretty great setting, HORSES, engaging characters, snake oil salesmen, sasparilla, cards, whore houses, you know…everything that made America great. Call of Juarez:Gunslinger is a great game that takes full advantage of everything the wild west had to offer.

Cloudberry Kingdom (PS3)

YO! This game though. If you frequent GeeklyInc and read our videogame section at all and aren’t reading this article by accident, you’ll know we love indie games, smaller games, downloadable games, what have you. You can keep you AAA games (just kidding, I’ll play those too please) The only thing I kind find to critique this game on is that I don’t think it’s available for PS4 just yet. If you still have a PS3, you need to scoop this challenging and hilariously fun game. According to the internet (which is never wrong) A team of devs spent 2 years building an AI that could build a near-infinite number of levels for any difficulty.

Wow, I’m exhausted! That’s a lot of super fun games, for free. I suggest downloading them all. Catch ya later, nerds.
