Personally, I didn’t get to play Dark Souls, Saints Row the Third and Deux Ex: Human Revolution last year, and I could knock out all three of those for less than $80. This Buy Two Pre-Owned Games, Get a Third Free sale is not good for my wallet.

We were all a little sad when Max Payne 3 was pushed back to May 15, 2012. Then we watched this video, about Max’s “targeting, weapons, and tactical movement”, and we became downright depressed. As what will almost certainly be one of the last first party games created for the Nintendo DS, Kirby Mass Attack is a fitting tribute. It is effortlessly charming, deceptively simple, and absolutely adorable without going into the realm of cavity-causing sweetness. It allows you to choose your own level of engagement, whether that is to romp though without a care in the world, or to take on the challenge of getting every collectable and gold medal. Which ever way you go, you are sure to have a great time with Kirby Mass Attack.

The game itself is worth $100 being that you could spend 200 hours playing it, and still have content left to burn. On top of that you get a frickin’ 12 inch dragon statue, an art book and a making of DVD. This is available for both Xbox 360 and PS3 (though you may want to hold off on the PS3 version since it has a nasty bug that still needs patching).

The PC downloadable versions of Dead Space and Dead Space 2 are on sale at Amazon for $5 each. Both games are chocked full of delicious tension and well worth a measly lincoln.

Look to the future young thrifties! The gang gets together and talks about they think are the most interesting games of 2012. Parie is heavily medicated after having his back go out on him, and nonsense is ever-present.

The Holidays would not be complete without the release of a Call of Duty game. In fact, the economy may even have suffered without it. Fortunately for all of us Modern Warfare 3 will fill your heart with the familiar sounds of gunfire and explosions. For better or worse MW3 is extremely similar to past titles in the series. Some will find this comforting while others will be left wanting more innovation.
